H. Pylori (Helicobacter Pylori) is a bacterium that lives in the upper gastrointestinal tract of almost half of the world’s population. While 80% of people with H. Pylori are asymptomatic, 20% of people will experience some sort of symptom, ranging from mild to severe. Anyone experiencing symptoms of the bacteria should seek H. Pylori Treatment.
What are the symptoms of H. Pylori?
H. Pylori causes the protective mucous coating of the stomach to break down and creates irritation in the stomach lining. This leads to the development of a peptic ulcer which can cause a dull ache, usually in the upper abdomen that:
- Can last days or even weeks.
- Worsens 2-3 hours after eating.
- Happens in the middle of the night when your stomach is empty.
- Is relieved by eating certain foods and/or taking antactids.
Other common symptoms of peptic ulcer caused by H. Pylori are:
- Weight loss
- Bloating, gas, or burping
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
If you experience any of the following less common symptoms your should seek immediate medical treatment for H. Pylori:
- Sharp, persistent stomach pain
- Dark, black, or bloody stool
- Bloody or dark vomit
What are my options for H. Pylori treatment?
While no H. Pylori treatment is 100% effective, there are many different treatment options to choose from.
H. Pylori Triple Therapy Treatment
The most common and effective treatment method is a 2-week course called “triple therapy”. Triple therapy uses two antibiotics to kill the H. Pylori bacteria while an antacid protects the stomach lining and assists your body in healing the peptic ulcer. This treatment is effective in preventing peptic ulcers from reoccurring in about 90% of individuals. Triple therapy may be problematic for some patients, however, as it involves taking many pills several times a day. Antibiotics are known to cause side effects in many people, including: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache and others.
H. Pylori Dual Therapy Treatment
In order to minimize side effects from antibiotics, this treatment method is used for more sensitive individuals. A single antibiotic is used instead of two.
Natural H. Pylori Treatment
This option is an alternative to treating H. Pylori using traditional medicine. Many people prefer this option to antibiotics as there are very few, if any side effects. There are literally dozens of natural remedies which promise to eradicate the H. Pylori bacteria, but how do you know which ones are safe and effective? Matula Herbal Formula is another natural treatment that can help to eliminate the H. Pylori bacteria in a relatively short period of time. In clinical trials, Matula Tea Herbal Formula has a 93% success rate of curing H. Pylori. Another great remedy for natural H. Pylori treatment is New Zealand Manuka Honey. It has strong antibacterial properties and can be used as an ingredient in food, a spread, or mixed into a drink. Whatever path you choose, natural or medical, I wish you the best of luck with your H. Pylori treatment!
